Yin & Yang
Two complementary opposites: ☷ (yin, broken line) and ☰ (yang, solid line). Every hexagram is a unique combination, reflecting balance or tension between these fundamental forces at the moment of asking.
Six Lines · Three Coins · 64 Hexagrams
A platform combining ancient Eastern wisdom with modern technology, bringing authentic, meaningful I Ching readings to everyone.
The I Ching (易經, Book of Changes) emerged over 3,000 years ago in ancient China, one of humanity's oldest and most enduring philosophical texts. From Fu Xi (伏羲) mapping the eight trigrams, to King Wen of Zhou (周文王) composing the 64 hexagrams, to Confucius writing the Ten Wings commentaries, the I Ching is a cumulative work of generations of sages.
It is not a book of prophecy but a system for thinking about change. All phenomena move through cycles of yin and yang, and the I Ching helps the questioner understand where they stand in those cycles, so they can act at the right moment.
Two complementary opposites: ☷ (yin, broken line) and ☰ (yang, solid line). Every hexagram is a unique combination, reflecting balance or tension between these fundamental forces at the moment of asking.
Eight primary trigrams, Qian, Kun, Zhen, Xun, Kan, Li, Gen, Dui, form the basic vocabulary. Pairing two trigrams produces 64 hexagrams, each representing a distinct situation in the universe.
No state is permanent. Changing lines (6 and 9) signal transforming energy, pointing to what is shifting, revealed through the derived hexagram and the nuclear hexagram.
The moment you ask your question is the moment the universe responds. The three-coin probability is not mere randomness but the pulse of reality at that precise instant.
The three-coin method (三枚硬幣法) has been the most widely used casting technique since the Tang Dynasty. Each toss generates one line; six tosses complete a six-line hexagram.
Find a quiet place and breathe steadily. Form a specific, clear question in your mind, no need to speak it aloud.
Click 'Cast Line'. The system tosses three virtual coins (tails=2, heads=3) and sums them for the line value: 6 (old yin ✕), 7 (young yang ━), 8 (young yin - -), 9 (old yang ○).
Continue casting lines 2 through 6. The hexagram builds from bottom to top, the first cast becomes the bottom line, the sixth becomes the top line.
Read the primary hexagram. If changing lines appear (6 or 9), also read the derived hexagram (future tendency) and the nuclear hexagram (hidden inner factors) for a complete picture.
Line probability (three-coin method)
In traditional divination, time is not just a number on a calendar, it is the position of the Earth within its cosmic cycle. To reflect that accurately, we standardize the entire platform on the Solar Terms Calendar (節氣, Tiết Khí) rather than the conventional lunar calendar.
Leap months destroy consistency
Every 2-3 years, the lunar calendar adds a leap month to catch up with the sun. The result: the same 'lunar date' can fall at two entirely different points in the solar year, breaking any cyclical calculation.
Not synchronized with natural energy
The lunar calendar tracks the moon, not the sun. The fifteenth of the first lunar month can land in midwinter or early spring depending on the year, while the energy the I Ching observes is the solar cycle.
Inconsistent across regions
Vietnamese, Chinese, and Korean lunar calendars place leap months at different times. The 'same' lunar date can be two different solar days depending on the country.
Astronomical foundation, no exceptions
24 solar terms divide Earth's orbit into 24 arcs of 15°. The Spring Equinox is always when the Sun crosses ecliptic longitude 0°, fixed astronomically, never repeating or skipping.
The I Ching's native time language
'Heaven and Earth in motion', the movement the I Ching observes, is solar motion. The 24 solar terms are the 24 states of that cycle, directly embodying the I Ching's core philosophy.
Consistent and scalable
Same solar term = same Earth position = same corresponding cosmic energy, every year without exception. This lets the system scale reliably into Tử Vi, BaZi, and future modules.
Synchronized with Synchronicity (Carl Jung)
Jung described the I Ching as working through 'meaningful coincidence', the moment of casting reflects the actual state of the universe. Solar terms, tied to precise astronomical positions, express that better than any human-constructed calendar.
It started as a personal habit. Before every major decision, choosing a direction, evaluating an opportunity, understanding a relationship, we would sit down, focus, and cast an I Ching hexagram. Not to get a predetermined answer, but to have a mirror.
But every session was a patchwork exercise: one tab to toss coins (wrong probabilities), another to look up the 64 hexagrams (machine-translated or Chinese-only), a third to understand changing lines, with the nuclear and derived hexagrams missing entirely. When consulting for someone else it got worse: explaining verbally while juggling five browser tabs.
The question kept surfacing: 'Why isn't there something complete, methodologically accurate, and truly in Vietnamese?' No answer existed in the market. So we built it.
kinhdich.akinet.me didn't start from a business plan. It started from something we needed ourselves, and when we built it, we realized many others needed it too.

No. The I Ching is a philosophical decision-making system used by thinkers, strategists, and leaders for 3,000 years. Carl Jung, the renowned psychologist, studied and applied it in psychological analysis. It does not pronounce fate; it provides perspective for clearer thinking about a situation.
In terms of probability, yes. The system applies the exact classical three-coin ratios: old yin (6)=1/16, old yang (9)=3/16, young yang (7)=5/16, young yin (8)=7/16. What matters most is the questioner's focus and sincerity, that doesn't depend on the type of coin.
Not required, but valuable. The primary hexagram describes the current situation. The derived hexagram (when changing lines exist) points to the future tendency. The nuclear hexagram reveals hidden inner factors. Beginners will find the primary hexagram reading fully sufficient.
I Ching can advise on nearly any domain: love, marriage, career, business, finances, health, travel, major decisions. Questions should be specific and about one issue at a time. Avoid overly broad or multi-part questions.
